Znata Co-working Space & Training Center

A training center built above an existing tire store.

On Znata Street, four floors of co-working space and training rise above the ground floor, with a special focus on English language education.

The owners are two brothers moving from the tire business to knowledge and training. We took the past and built the new building out of it.

From tires to knowledge

The two brothers who own the building want to leave the tire business. It is the business that drove them, so we did not erase it. We took it as the idea and made it the language of the building.

The ground floor stays a working tire store until further notice. Reception and waiting sit at the north end, where the main entrance is.

Light from the west

The main front faces west, so light arrives with heat. We left a space between the outer facade and the interior walls, so the sun is stopped before it reaches the rooms.

In the window areas the facade is a metal net. It diffuses the light and works as a sun shade.

A tire in steel

The layers of a tire shaped the building’s horizontal bands, and tire tread marks shaped the pattern of the steel net. The building keeps the memory of the business it grew from.

The floors

Ground floor plus four floors, with 200 m² on top. The ground floor holds the tire store, reception and waiting. The floors above are dedicated to training activities and co-working spaces.
