Our goal was to modernize the quarters of an old Roman castle.

Inspired by the Roman colosseum’s architecture, we connected the four floors of this villa with a central staircase. The large room on the top floor overlooks the side street and serves as the site for family gatherings and events. The large elliptical balcony adorns the east side of the building to provide extra privacy for the surrounding area. The roof’s oval opening is shaded with a glass reinforced concrete (GRC) facade to limit the heat while lighting the staircase.
